Digital X-Ray Sensor Sleeves
ProtectDent sleeves offer an effective protective barrier against cross-infection, including viruses such as HIV, HBV and HCV. They fit sensors perfectly, which increases patient comfort during the examination, and they resist leaking and tearing while being single use. To care for the environment, the sleeves are made of oxo-biodegradable plastic, which breaks down faster than traditional plastics. The packaging is paper and fully recyclable. Five sizes from 3.5 × 20 cm to 6.4 × 25 cm, including a 3.8 × 20 cm size that also takes a mouth mirror and a 4.2 × 20 cm version with rounded edges. CE marked, Class I medical device under Regulation (EU) 2017/745, non-sterile, single use.

What sizes are available?
Five: 3.5 × 20 cm, 4.5 × 20 cm, 6.4 × 25 cm, 3.8 × 20 cm (which also takes a mouth mirror) and 4.2 × 20 cm with rounded edges. In each size the length covers the sensor and a run of cable.
How do I get a proper seal?
Push the sensor fully to the end of the sleeve before you position it, then smooth the film down along the cable. The sleeve is closed at one end and fits tightly around the cable at the other.
Does the sleeve protect the sensor from damage?
It keeps saliva and splatter off the housing and takes the surface contact from biting. It is a protective film, not a case — treat a dropped sensor exactly as you would without a sleeve.
Can I use these with phosphor plates?
For phosphor plates, use our phosphor plate covers. They are fitted to the plate and closed with a self-adhesive tab.
Can a sleeve be reused?
No. Each sleeve is single use, one per patient.
