Are these sleeves only for ultrasonic scalers?
The size and shape are cut for ultrasonic scalers, but the sleeves also fit handpieces of a similar diameter.
Does the sleeve affect scaling performance?
No. The film is thin enough not to dampen vibration or block the water stream.
How do I keep the sleeve in place during use?
The sleeve fits tightly against the body of the instrument. During a long appointment you can also tape its top edge to the cord.
Why use a sleeve when scaling?
Scaling spreads aerosol and splatter over everything within reach of the chair. Covering the instrument and the first section of the cord limits both, and it also shortens cleaning between patients.
Can a sleeve be reused?
No. Each sleeve is single use, one per patient.
